Komin-Flex Single-Wall Vacuum Chimneys
 


Contemporary heating technology imposes higher and higher standards to be met by  associated and auxiliary systems. The prevailing trends to achieve the best possible performance of heating units and to upgrade the boiler construction have resulted in a change of parameters and the content of combustion products. Taking into account  chimney working conditions, enhanced efficiency of heating units involves lowering the temperatures of flue gases, which, in turn, affects the chimney operation characteristics and causes a rise in the condensation due to a higher steam water content in emissions.
Modern heating units, working within an automatic cycle. adjust their efficiency to the demand imposed by central heating and hot service water systems.
Both a heating unit and a chimney must be adapted to variable operating conditions, so as to create a cohesive energy unit.
One of major parameters that a contemporary chimney should feature is low thermal inertia, which, combined with the cyclic boiler operation, produces fast warm up of a chimney, thus increasing the stack effect.

KOMIN-FLEX single-wall vacuum chimneys made of acid- or heat-resistant steel perfectly fit the modern chimney operating conditions. When inserted into a traditional ceramic chimney, the liner takes over the role of a classic chimney.
High heat conductivity and resistance to the impact of emissions of acid-resistant steel, as well as high temperature resistance of heat-resistant steel, combined with a wide range of available diameters and components, make the single-wall chimneys the most efficient and comfortable means protecting ceramic chimneys used to carry off exhaust emissions from heating units, including boilers fired with solid, gas and oil fuels.

The single-wall vacuum chimney system offered by KOMIN-FLEX is made up of pipes, connections, washout holes and fixing components, as well as of knees and chimney terminations.  
Major chimney components are made of steel 0.5mm to 1.0mm thick, of standard diameter ranging between 100mm and 500mm. Single-wall chimneys featuring diameter over 500mm are manufactured according to individual specifications.

High precision of constructed components and tight connections (pipes are plasma-arc welded) ensure high safety of the system. The applied linking technology utilizing 100 mm long muffs, characteristic of KOMIN-FLEX, translates into simplicity of the assembly and considerable rigidity of the construction.
KOMIN-FLEX single-wall vacuum chimneys comply with the following European standards: PN EN 1443,
PN EN 1856-1, PN EN 1856-2 and a Polish standard PN-93/B-02870.
Production of single-wall chimneys is subjected to the Plant Production Control System 1450-CPD-0001 (CE-marked products). The chimney products – in case of which the harmonised standards are inapplicable - conform to Technical Approval AT INiG No 05-008/96 Issue III/2004 A (B-marked products). KOMIN-FLEX has been awarded PN-EN ISO 9001:2001 Quality Management System Certificate by Oil and Gas Institute in Krakow.

KOMIN-FLEX chimney products have also been certified by TUV NORD Nr 07-701-Z-PH82/05/H and are approved and recommended by the Corporation of Polish Chimney Sweeps.
